Do you support the landscape strategy proposed?

Yes. Would be great to include both coniferous and deciduous trees.

Ensure water is regularly tested for pollution and contamination.

Do you support our approach to ecology which aims to balance the need for development with protecting and enhancing ecology?

Yes. Aim for greater than 10% bio gain.

Ensure eco system is more in balance with native environment.

As part of the proposals how should we be preserving the history of the site and surrounding area?

Ensure appropriate local data is collected and explained in jargon free texts.

Do you support the landscape strategy proposed?

No, too much building in the area already, creating feeling of cramped environment and claustrophobia. Otherwise looks OK if we must be forced to lose all the open speace.

Wildlife connectivity, assuming there will be any remaining north of the A2.

Do you support our approach to ecology which aims to balance the need for development with protecting and enhancing ecology?

There is no such thing as a balance possible, you will destroy much of the existing habitat and what is left will probably not suit the existing species so please don't pretend that it will.

Ebbsfleet Central cannot be considerd only on its on, need to know what is planned for the other areas, don't tell us there will be large scrub areas if they are actually going to be built on during a later phase.

This would be the ideal opportunity to provide for long term storage for the huge quantity of Romano-British, Saxon and Medieval archaeological artefacts produced by the large scale excavations in the Ebbsfleet Valley between 2000 and 2003 and for their study by archaeological specialists and for the display of a selection of them to the general public.

The known heritage of this area is massively more than you have listed above. The proposed developments would be the ideal opportunity to provide long term storage space for the huge quantity of Roman, Saxon and Medieval archaeological artefacts produced by the large scale excavations in the Ebbsfleet Valley between 2000 and 2003 and for their study by archaeological specialists and for the display of a selection of them to the general public. [I have put most of this comment in other places on your enquiry form but this is I think, the most appropriate place!] The archaeology of the area is mostly excavated away so there would be no possibility of preserving the historic landscape itself. I should also mention the Ebbsfleet Elephant; to quote from the published report of 2013, 'the remains of the carcass of an extinct tusked elephant Palaeoloxodon antiquus surrounded by the undisturbed scatter of flint tools used for its butchery' dated between 425,000 and 375,000 years ago! There's a lot of scope for storage and display of Ebbsfleet history material and the reports have all been published. I can give references if needed. I understand that Kent County Council would very much welcome any storage space for the Ebbsfleet Valley excavation finds that you could offer and that they would be happy to provide you with more information.
